Prevalence of retinopathy of prematurity in a urban based tertiary hospital in central India

Background: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is an important cause preventable blindness in children. It a serious and underestimated complication treatment among preterm low-birth weight babies unless recognized treated early. Objective: The objective this study was to estimate the prevalence ROP infants Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) tertiary hospital increase awareness early screening parents doctors. Materials Methods: A prospective survey performed enrolling all prematures low-birth-weight Neonates delivered at Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre from July 2018 June 2021, with gestational age 37 weeks or less birth 1700 g less. One Hundred Eighty Six(186) (i.e.372 eyes) were included for .Out these 186 (372eyes), Forty eight (48)preterm (i.e.96 developed Prematurity.
